Exploring sacred imagery has been the pursuit of my recent mixed media artwork. The Tree of Life is a symbol of wonder, beauty and connection, not separation. I created each of these works over a series of days or weeks, using a Tree of Life design I had created as a papercut. I began each work by photocopy transferring the tree onto a background. I then created a world around the tree, finding inspiration with paint, beads, collage bits and more. Ultimately, these works are comments on the human pursuit of higher truths, regardless of what, if any, religion one follows.
